Oh My Goodness, What happened to my little Lauren & Daddy?? Looks like they got into a huge fight?? Or else Lauren was pretending to be a doctor & wanted Daddy to look like he was hurt!!
Then, Lauren thought it looked so fun, she wanted to look like that too!!!!
Today, Lauren decided that she would like to do makeovers. I was able to be her GuineaPig!! After she finished my look with the play makeup, she decided that she wanted in too!!
I gave her a little makeover with my makeup (She breaks out in a yucky rash from the play stuff)
She looked sooooo beautiful!!! (like she doesn't anyways...) Her eyelashes went on for a mile!! Then, just as I was finishing up her makeover, here comes Ethan!! He had given himself a makeover using Lauren's makeup. Isn't it pretty!!??
Daddy bowls on Wednesdays, so the kiddo's & I usually have movie nights. I recently TiVo'd Garfield Gets Real, and the kids snuggled up on their regular spot. They loved it!! It is quickly becoming a favorite.
Today, Gma Penny, Lauren & I went shopping for shoes for my best friend Andrea's wedding. Ethan & Brad stayed back with Gpa Steve & Andy.
When we got back from shopping, we hung out & played in the front yard for a bit. The weather was really nice & the kids don't getover to their house very often.
Uncle Andy & Gpa Steve did a little bit of work on Andy's old bike so that Lauren could ride it when we are down! How nice is that??
Gpa Steve & Ethan shared a box of Teddy Grahams in their little chairs on the driveway, it was so cute!!
Brad & Lauren rode up & down the block on the bike - which has the little trick stands on it, so Brad couldn't help but let Lauren take him for a ride!!
Finally!! The day has come for the Cinderella Ballet!!We have been looking forward to this day for over 2 months!! We were given the opportunity to go to this ballet through Girl Scouts.
For those of you who knew me as a child, you can imagine how I had been looking forward to this!! I am not sure who was more excited for this, me or Lauren!!
Lauren was soooo good during the performance, much better than many people much older than her. She really seemed to respect the ballet at this young age. She was really funny at the first intermission. She said "I just don't understand one thing, why aren't they talking?"
We even got to have the girls go onstage after the performance and have their pictures taken on the stage with some of the cast!!
We had such a fun Mommy - Lauren day!! I am really blessed to have such a great daughter!!
Today, there is no fun picture to post or cool story to tell. We started having de-construction and cleaning done in our basement today. We have found mold growing in what should be a new, clean and dry basement. Now we think we know why our kids have been so sick. This is just the start and I will try to keep you all updated on this yucky situation.
Daddy was home today, and the weather was beautiful!! We even took a really long walk! The fresh air felt so good!!
For some odd reason, this is what we decided to do this evening...
I remember when I was a kid, my dad thought that it was really fun to roll me & my big brother up in blankets so that he could tickle us without us escaping. I used to think he was a kook!!
Actually, it is pretty fun!! Lauren had a great time and wouldn't let us stop! She is always up for a challenge!!
Ethan didn't want in on the sport, but he thoroughly enjoyed watching Lauren try to escape!!
He also liked to giggle at her when she just couldn't quite get out!!!
Today at Laurens school, was the Teddy Bear Picnic!! I was able to take the morning and go help in her classroom. Lauren got to bring Burfy to school and they got to wear their PJ's all day!!
Lauren and Burfy went to many different stations. She got to read stories to Burfy.
She measured Burfy's circumference with links.
She measured Burfy's height with unifix cubes. She sorted and tallied teddy bears.
Today was our spring conference with Lauren's Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Vagts.
As all parents do, we think that our daughter is very smart. Our conference blew us away.
As of today, the end of the 2nd trimester, Lauren has already mastered every skill necessary to pass Kindergarten. She is demonstrating all social, emotional, communication and work habit skills consistently. She has also surpassed all skills in mathematics and literacy.
Here is the good part...
Lauren was tested on her literacy skills. She is reading at a 2nd grade 2nd trimester level. WOW!! We knew she was good, but that is awesome!! That is a full 2 years advanced!!
Lauren is also being recommended for some extra testing. There is a Gifted and Talented program here in Brainerd, located at Lowell Elementary School. Lauren is going to be testing to see if she will be accepted into the program!
This blog will follow me through my everyday life as a wife & a mom 365 days a year. Maybe I will have a picture to share, maybe I will have a cool tip or maybe I will just have something to get off my chest. Stay tuned...
