She Loves a Piano too!!

Turtle races. Yeah, that's what I said...

Yesterday, I brought the kids to Nisswa to the turtle races. They actually race turtles. It was so cute! We were #'s 146 & 149 out of over 500.

I helped Ethan pick out his turtle & helped him to the line. He was all excited to get the turtle out, until he saw that it was a real, live, moving turtle... He did actually pick him back up when we were putting him away!

Lauren, however went out there on her own & had no problem picking out her own turtle, getting him out and racing him!! Unfortunately, she was really disappointed when her turtle took 2 steps then turned around and walked back towards her!! By the time she got him turned back around, the whistle blew and someone had already won. She had a few tears, but we assured her that it was just that he liked her so much that he didn't want to go.

Unfortunately, I was helping the kids out at the time, and the races go so fast, that I was unable to get any pictures of the race!!

My Birthday, I guess...

So, I didn't want to have a birthday this year. I guess I had to anyways!!

Deals & Steals : Turkey

OK, so I have no pictures from today. I will share with you a great deal that I picked up recently.

I emailed Jenne-o to request a free cookbook. In this cookbook, was a $5 off coupon. I went to Wal-Mart and I found a 3 lb package of ground turkey (which now I have recipes for) This package was marked at $5.45.

3 lbs of ground turkey for 45 cents!! Thats what I call a good deal!!

Miss Brainerd Lakes Pageant

OMG, cookies for me??

Never (except perhaps during my childhood), has anyone made me cookies. NEVER.

Today, as I napped on the couch (I know, who am I??) Brad and Lauren actually baked me a batch of chocolate chip cookies!! And they turned out beautifully (not to mention YUMMY!!)

Thanks you guys, it meant more to me than you even know!!

Today, we thought it would be a fun idea to surprise Daddy with a picnic dinner and a little bit of fishing with his new fishing pole (see fathers day post)

Turns out, he didn't quite know how to get his rod & reel set up, so we spent most of the time asking the kiddo's to wait, please be patient, don't jump in the lake... you know the drill...

All I even got was pictures of the kiddo's eating their sandwiches!!

PS. We did not catch anything... Maybe next time.

Tonight, the kiddo's stayed at a co-workers house for a bit & Brad and I were actually able to go out for a little bit!



We went out to dinner at this little tiny bar & restaurant in Pillager. The food was fantastic!! Brad also beat me in a quick game of pool!! We started back and then realized that we had only been gone an hour & 15 minutes. Fearing that the sitter would make fun of us...





We stopped off at this little lake in Pillager and just took the time to walk hand in hand, looking at the lake, just being together!

Andrea's Bachlorette party!!

Tonight was the big party that Alexa & I have been planning for months!! We had a great time at Buca Di Beppo's and then back at Andrea's!! Thanks to everyone for a great evening!!

The most delicious chocolate cake ever...

Here is a picture of the cake that I got for Andrea's Bachelorette party!! Isn't it pretty?? Andrea LOVES chocolate cake, and when I went to Byerley's to find one, they said that this was the richest one they made. It is actually a chocolate truffle cake. It is just one ginormous chocolate truffle. MMMmmmmmm....
